Warehouse / Event Manager
Purpose
To facilitate operational execution of special events including pullin, prep'ing and loading equipment; equipment maintenance; managing event and warehouse personnel; travel to event locations for install and take down. This position provides materials, equipment, and supplies by coordinating warehousing activities and overseeing labor staff for special events. Positive results and performance could foster growth into a managerial position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations of lighting, sound, a/v and support equipment for special event productions.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
- Organizes warehouse by planning and implementing effective layouts.
- Inspects and maintains equipment; handles repairs; requisitions replacements; reviews and maintains event reports on gear
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Ensures that workplace’s health, safety and cleanliness requirements are met.
- Evaluates processes and develops procedures that increase efficiency.
- Implements cost reduction principles in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities.
- Assists in scheduling and assigning employees for jobs; following up on work results.
- Conducts regular audits of daily labor and billing documents.
- Helps maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains warehouse results through coaching and constant motivation.
- Follows up and controls daily absence and overtime.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed (picking, packing, decorating, lighting, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Works under the direct supervision of the Art Director and indirect supervision of the
Owner. This position oversees warehouse part-time and labor ready employees.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proven success in all or most of the following areas:
- Basic carpentry skills as it applies to scene shop work
- Understanding of AV lighting
- Scheduling and advance planning
- Computer skills, preferably Mac
- Strong written and verbal communication

Work Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience with primary responsibility for warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of inventory management.
- Experience supervising people.
- Experience in Event Planning industry preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
Working Conditions:
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
- Able to focus for long periods of time.
- Able to lift and move up to ~75 pounds.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Ability to work nights/weekends on events.
- Travel by motor vehicle within the region and to other locations as required.
Compensation
- Full-time
- Compensation: $28,000-$34,000/yr. dependent on skills and experience.
